I’m Ava Sanchez, Colombian born, New Zealander by choice and Licensed Immigration Advisor.
In short, I am someone just like you, who understands what it’s like to put your dreams on hold…
Around 20 or so years ago, I moved from Colombia to New Zealand to be with my Kiwi partner, and was waiting for immigration to approve my residency.
Like you, I was dreaming of stability and security.
I wanted to buy a house with my partner, find a great job, and live without the stress of limbo. (Oh, and I was 9 months pregnant with a 12 pound baby, so the clock was ticking!)
So on the day of my baby’s due date, I went straight to the Immigration office to check up on my visa.
There, the immigration officer told me they had “doubts” about whether my relationship with my husband was “genuine.”
And that the documents I had spent weeks collecting for them were not enough to “prove” my relationship with my partner [who also happened to be the father of the 12 pound baby ], so it would take longer for my residency to be approved , IF it was going to be approved.
At that moment, I felt a flood of humiliation, anger, and fear for my baby and our uncertain future.
Worst of all?
Immigration never explained what I needed to do to prove my relationship status. Even with my background as an immigration advisor, I still found the process confusing, frustrating, and stressful.
At that moment, I decided to become the immigration adviser I never had.
Someone who could help other immigrants confidently navigate the application process in a stress-free way so they wouldn’t have to put their dreams on hold.
Since then, I have spent some 20 years helping 100s of NZ Visa applicants overcome their visa application challenges and successfully secure their future in New Zealand.
And now, I want to help YOU confidently navigate your visa application process so you can stop living in limbo and finally become a Kiwi!

from experience, planning a move to New Zealand is all about checking out job options, sorting schools for your kiddos, and sussing out the lifestyle you can expect. Living costs might give you a jolt if you're not set, especially when it comes to food and housing.
You'll need to navigate through a bit of paperwork and research – but we know that visas are the biggest of all steps when you are considering a move to New Zealand. Health and character checks are mandatory so do not forget to consider your past and current situation. Having a job offer in hand or proving you have enough funds to support yourself is also key. In short, the requirements will depend on the visa you are planning for. If in doubt, ask us for an immigration planning session.
Living in New Zealand brings its unique allure. I, for one, am enraptured by the supreme quality of life, the astounding landscapes, and the hospitable community that envelops us. However, bear in mind that its remoteness can skyrocket travel expenses. Some may perceive this as a downside, the price to pay for paradise. Yet, it's essential

Based on our experience with New Zealand's immigration process, the time it takes can vary depending on the visa type. For instance, the Skilled Migrant Category Resident Visa under new criteria typically processes in about 3 months. If you're aiming for a Straight to Residence Visa, you might be looking at around 5 months. The Work to Residence Visa also takes about 3 months, while the Permanent Resident Visa is much quicker, usually within 4 weeks. These timeframes are just guidelines and can fluctuate based on the volume of applications or individual circumstances. A good link to check to keep up with the waiting times is HERE .

We were working with another immigration consultancy and we were really not happy with their service, not good at answering questions, feels like they only submitted the documents we supplied with absolutely no assistance.
And then off course you Ava, over the moon with how you handle this for us. We are extremely happy with everything you do for us and how you assist us with questions and advise on things. Extremely happy that you are on our side.
